A quick glimpse at the cast for this film would make any horror fan giddy with glee. The actual movie doesn't live up to those high expectations, but it's far from being all bad. Desi Arnaz Jr. (!) plays an author who makes a crazy $20,000 bet with his publisher that he could write a great novel in only 24 hours. To do so, the publisher gives him the keys to an old abandoned house where he won't be disturbed. Not true. Once he gets there he is interrupted by a multitude of guests including a family which consists of John Carradine, Sheila Keith, Peter Cushing and Vincent Price. They are gathered there in a twisted family reunion to release their brother from the room he's been imprisoned in for forty years. Even Christopher Lee drops by as Corrigan, the man who has just purchased the house. Soon, they realize that the caged brother is loose and out for revenge.
What a great plotline and what a dream cast! This movie should have been a hell of a lot better. It's hard to pinpoint the exact problems with the film, but I would venture to say that the lack of lighting was a major fault. Sure the house has no electricity but I think they took the title of the movie a little too literally. Scenes after scenes are barely visible and the actors' faces are undecipherable. Only the moments in the main dinning hall are well lit. Also, the great actors are given very little to do. Cushing gets a few chuckles as the scared brother but Price, Lee and especially Carradine are somewhat wasted here. Well, at least Price gets the best line of the film: `Please don't interrupt me while I am soliloquizing.' And on the plus side, the story has enough twists and turns throughout to keep one`s interest and the ending, while a bit of a cop-out, manages to surprise.
虽也套着“梦想、成长、亲情、人生”等诸多易流于大词的外衣，但皮克斯以不竭的想象力和繁盛的创造力，再次定义其工业标杆的当之无愧，某些场景几乎与实景无异。
除夕临近，看了这部“心灵鸡汤”式的皮克斯动画片，观感还算愉快，只是老套过多，欠缺新意。So so!
小时候一直觉得这个会有续集的，2021年终于看了4K版本的完整故事，也算是补全了一个缺憾吧。
有合理理由怀疑这美国政府和迪士尼联合出品的美国人民洗脑片，就算你的人生很失败，起码你还能活着就已经很好了。（很一般，最后半小时的强行升华也打动不了我
满怀期待去看，触动并不是很深，也许因为我本来就是没什么追求的废柴吧......
这是皮克斯近年来表达水准最高的电影，它在宏观与微观层面完美的表达令人惊叹。爵士是属于灵魂的音乐，皮克斯用这个点稳稳把握住了影片的节奏，将一个偌大的哲学命题用生活中最小的细节去阐述。最后那一段近乎满分的蒙太奇将情绪彻底释放，会感叹生活是多么的美好。
到底是什么赋予生命以意义值得一活？是生与死之间的一切。
人这一生，每一分钟都很精彩。
纽约秋天飘到掌心里的一片翅果，可以包含整个世界。
皮克斯献给“打工人”的年度治愈之作，这才是真正适合圣诞节和年底看的心灵大片。如果让我选一部电影跨年，我会推荐《soul》，它不但让我想要珍惜那些生命中的小美好，更是让我想要感谢那些生命中照亮过我的人和事。以及不得不说，音乐太适合灵魂这个主题了，全片的音乐太动人了。
皮克斯又写了一篇“反好莱坞精神传统”甚至“整个美国精神传统”的心理学小论文，论题并不见得精深却总是捡起被成人遗落在精神角落的本质放在手心，一瞬的回响或者久久的回味。
所以生命最大的意义就是活着，不一定是到达哪里
赶紧多排片，把郭小四这种鸡贼劣币赶出去。这才是好片！

我时常思考为什么我走路的时候会喜欢触碰事物，会对路上遇见的很多微不足道的事情好奇，以前我会觉得自己是多动症罢了，现在想起来，也许那刻我jazzy了吧！
還以為要講做藝術需要對生活的sensibility，最後原來是「活著真好」，通俗情感點打得真準啊。只不過這碗有點老生常談的雞湯注定是短效的，面對生活的雞零狗碎時一切打回原形。
一个心怀梦想不肯去死的乐手，一个拒绝出生气死无数导师的婴灵，难为编剧团队想出这么棒的人物组合，化和出种种爆棚笑料。把“出神”具象化为灵界一处无法之地也是神来之笔。可惜的是比同样探讨人内心和灵魂的《头脑特工队》和《寻梦环游记》少了些奇观段落，对生死的严肃思考降格成了“以梦想还是感受定义自我？”的身份问题。如果把22号爱上人生的过程以佛教六根六尘一十八境的方式展现出来就好了，可惜推崇热闹动感的美国动画显然不会走那条路。
因为Disney+Pixar这样的存在 才使我对现代动画充满向往 我不仅向往那每一帧的画面 更向往那群创造奇迹的地方

Soul具有诗性的温柔，最可取的点是会做减法。除了道理讲太透外（基于商业考量这是必要的），在创造力和主旨深度上令人惊叹。这是从黑暗中走过的人才能写出的故事。
